I officially rock at making homemade (baked) doughnuts! Well, at least me and the kids think so... and really, that's all that counts! Perhaps it was the great recipe/instructions I found on Pinterest.

Last Friday, I wanted to try this chicken and dumplings recipe.  And it's not exactly like I have a free moment to myself often, especially to try new recipes. So, what's a mother to do? Let the boys help me make supper!! although there was slight throwing of flour, Moose is practicing VBS songs. They, of course, liked the flour the best. And I really never mind a mess (at least not one that can't be swept or wiped up). I gave them spatulas and had them lift up the dumplings after I cut them. I can't say they were beautiful but it did turn out delicious! How is it the one that joins the party late gets the messiest? And that one always ends up on the counter? This child loves to help me. I can't ask for a better helper. Daddy took the boys outside to be pounded like erasers (or maybe just wiped). And I think Casper paid me a visit.  What sweet little feet. I know, I know, Easter is way over. I'm behind (imagine that!).  However, I wanted to share this cute idea of an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt I found here  (well, really on Pinterest, but you know). I hid eggs in varying spots: where mama cooks, where there is something you put on your foot (shoe), where you put your dirty clothes, in the bathtub. It was really cool to have Moose read the clues and figure them out (he didn't get the shoe one).  Squirt just liked to spill the eggs. Over and over. I also found the idea for our carrots on Pinterest (from this blog ). They were cool until they fell down. Oh well. Very simple to make, too. Link up with Angie for Wordful Wednesday . My friend, Cheryl, posts her weekly Pinterest activities on her blog. I'd like to begin joining her, so I'll tell you what I've been up to. I tried to make this last night, but it flopped. Luckily, Big A was there to pick up the pieces (literally) when I got frustrated and turned it into a delicious pot-pie type meal. I made two of these peach-blueberry pies . Not sure if they taste good because I sent them to a bake sale. Fingers crossed! My kids enjoyed this peanut butter and jelly banana rolls . Their friend didn't...but kids are fickle eaters at other peoples' houses. For Valentine's Day, I surprised my husband with this package of Super Hero goodies . I've had the printables for over a year now. I'm also hoping to print off these chore printables for my kids, but I may not get them pasted until next week (no Mod Podge...although I'm sure I could find a DIY on pinterest for that).  We all know (or you should know) that I love Pinterest. I have several boards that I'm always adding to: food, crafts, clothes, hair, etc. I also love my readers, so I want you to know what I've been up to in regards to my pins (because I'm sure you're on the edge of your seats!).  These are a few crafts I did around the Christmas season. First up, the mother's nest with eggs. I originally made this when I taught this craft to my MOPS group, but then ended up making the charms for some friends for Christmas. My eggs are blue for my boys, not birthstones. :D These bracelets are not the same, if you look closely. I made these for my sisters; I thought they were cute. I'm not sure if they liked them or not but oh well. I tried. They are tougher to make than they look; making sure it all stays tight enough. This is just a variation on the mother's nest with eggs necklace. My SIL, MIL, and mom don't wear necklaces (that I've noticed), so ...

I decided yesterday that I wanted to actually make something with my sewing machine. I didn't want to continue to practice making straight seams. I also know that the best way to learn something is to do it, over and over. So I found this link to a 10-minute colored pencil roll on Pinterest. if anyone knows how to end my stitch lines without having little threads leftover hanging all over, I'd appreciate tips. my zig zags all rolled up Squirt seems to like it. I got these colors so he'd stop eating & breaking his colors (he doesn't eat them often but he does break them a lot). I hope it'll help when we travel. I'm also hoping to make a similar thing for Moose's cars (and probably one for Squirt's cars too).
