What I Wore Wednesday

Lindsey at the Pleated Poppy hosts this wonderful little blog prompt What I Wore Wednesday where other bloggers can show off their style. I got started reading this through my friend Erin, but am interested in looking at more pictures so I can raise my style knowledge. I have never been a stylish person, but would very much like to learn (it's never too late, right?). So here goes my pictures from the past week (or so?).

I don't entirely remember when I wore these outfits; just some time in the past week (I'll try to be better at categorizing these things and take pictures daily instead of sporadically).

Shirt: Hand-me-down
Jeans: Vanity (hand-me-down)

Ring: Samuel's (my wedding ring - always my favorite accessory)
Socks: gift from a friend
(it has been SO cold in my house lately; I just hate to turn on the heater already).

Dress: Walmart
Tights: Hand-me-down (see a pattern here?)

Dress: guess? Hand-me-down (but my new LBD)
Shoes: CSN Stores

Alright WIWW-ers, I have these boots. I've never owned boots and I don't know what to pair them with. They don't fit over my jeans (no skinny jeans here...yet?) nor under them. Do I wear these with a dress? I figure if you're reading this, you have more style than I do.

Monday (10/24/10)

Top: Omaha 1/2 marathon (marathon/10K) shirt
Jeans: Old Navy

Then I got warm in the shirt, so I switched it up for this outfit:

 Shirt: Old Navy
Scarf: Boubo Boutique (review sneak peek)
Jeans: still Old Navy

THEN I decided to try on my Halloween costume because I was questioning whether my husband would let me out of the house wearing it. He'd been a little too passe about Wonder Woman.
We decided that I will wear tights under this outfit (besides it's going to be COLD...I don't want a weak Wonder Woman).

Cape: Kids Capes
Shirt: XL hand-me-down I shredded for this costume
Panties: Knickerocker (another review sneak peek)
Moose's costume: Costume Discounters

Hope you enjoyed. Please don't forget to go to the Pleated Poppy to post your own WIWW style.

you are so silly! you have great style (love the pink shoes with you lbd!), but this is sooo not about style! its all about getting out of our sweats and taking better care of ourselves. and you are rocking that costume - wow!

That black dress and pink heels is very beautiful on you!

As far as the boots question, I think for sure they are to go with skinny jeans so you can show off all that cool fur and buckles. With the right fitted (not skin tight, just form following) casual skirt and fitted top, I think they could work to.
Thanks for linking up with Jewelscapes Bejeweled Wednesdays! I post outfit and jewelry coordinating ideas daily!

I think you have fab style, and the cut of that blue top is amazing on you. I think you should pair the boots with some leggings/thick tights (I just happen to love leggin's) with a denim or khaki skirt and a cute top. The boots are awesome and so fun so I'd keep the rest simple! Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods!

I love that you posted the photo in your Halloween costume! Go Wonder Woman!!! I think you look super cute. I have no idea what to wear the boots with. I'd love to start wearing more boots, but I'm a little nervous on what to wear them with. Hopefully someone will have better advice than me :) Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the nice comment!

You look beautiful! You have more guts then me. I don't think I could wear the WW outfit. :^) I love your hair style. I need to update my style I really like yours. Your new banner at the top is just too cute. Your boys are adorable. No idea about the boots as I am in Florida and we really don't have weather to wear the boots. Good luck finding something for them.

Two thumbs up for showing your costume, you certainly rock it!
I would also pair the boots with skinny jeans, believe me, once you go the skinny jeans way, there's no going back :)
Also I think they could look great with some black tights and a knitted dress or similar.

I think hand me downs or hand me overs are great on many levels--on the wallet and t's like recycling. :)

Your scarves are a great addition and splash of color.

I want to be a boots girl but I haven't taken that leap yet. You could wear yours with leggings and a long sweater or tunic or with a skirt. Good luck!
