Costume Discounters (review)

Halloween is coming up! It's definitely my favorite non-religious holiday. I get giddy just thinking about the possibility of costumes for my family. I love group costumes - partially because I like to make my husband dress up!

I contacted Costume Discounters to see if I could review their Superman Muscle Chest Costume. Moose is very excited about Superman lately - we watch the old cartoons constantly - so I thought this would be perfect. Obviously the theme I've chosen this Halloween for my family is superheroes - Costume Discounters has a huge selection of superhero costumes. Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man - all the heroes I can think of, they have. Browsing their boys Halloween costumes makes me so excited for the future; what my boys will want to wear and such.

When we got the package with the Superman costume, I was the most excited mom ever. We hurried home to open the package. Moose got the BIGGEST grin (wish I would have captured it) on his face when I pulled out the costume. He immediately knew who it was - and I think he knew that he got to wear the costume.

The costume is made pretty much like every costume that's made; it's not heavy fabric on the cape but it's sturdy. It will hold up under the influence of a 3-year-old little boy. I'll admit, it was a warm day when we first tried on the costume - and that made it slightly uncomfortable. Moose is a hot head - the boys sweats like a man. So after running around for a bit, he was HOT and wanted the costume off. However, October 31st should be kind of chilly here in the Cornhusker State, so that shouldn't be a problem for us.

The colors of the material are really vibrant, as you can tell. It really fits him mostly well (we got a small kid size - not toddler) which I was slightly concerned about. I will say he doesn't like it to be snapped in the back; I think the neck's tight, but I can leave it open. Buying clothes of any kind online is kind of scary for me because sizes vary so much. However, Costume Discounters does have a nice sizing chart that I used to determine the size to get.

I am so excited for Moose to wear this costume. I can tell that it just makes him feel like a superhero, like he's Superman (or maybe he is?). It just makes him smile and that's more than I could have asked. This isn't just a Halloween costume, it's a happy day.

Please visit Costume Discounters for your Halloween needs (and desires). They really do have a great selection and competitive prices. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter. Also check out their other site Costume Supercenter - another great find for Halloween costumes and accessories.
