May update, into June, and Happy Father's Day

Image
May was crazy! June is crazy! July is birthdays so I'm looking forward to August. I think. I think the biggest update is on Moose. His surgery went fantastic. It was June 1. It's like he's had no recovery, seriously. He came out of the operating room in no pain and hasn't complained of pain since (that's 2 weeks of no pain, amazing, miraculous. Thank You, Great Physician). The procedure was a success - they took out the tissue/tumor they were hoping to obtain. He's had no seizures since (which is not an indication one way or another since he is still on his anti-seizure meds). waiting in the hospital - looking at something not-so-serious, I'm sure my sister and I coloring while we wait Big A took him for his two week follow-up yesterday (I was home sick). They said only 4 more weeks of no swimming (versus 6 weeks). Everything seems to be healing fine (despite his picking at the scabs on his head). He will have another MRI December 20 and if that ...

Holy Spirit prayers

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. - Romans 8:26 I find great reassurance in this Scripture. This morning Squirt had a small surgical procedure to clean his ears and they ended up putting in new tubes. I know this is a common procedure - we've been through it twice already (3 now!) between the boys. And yet...it's a surgery. There are always risks. And I was reminded yesterday at a MOPS meeting about how the hospital is the germiest place ever (ugh - not something you want to hear when your little one is going under!).  So this morning I wanted to pray for him and I did, but I didn't feel my words were telling God about my fears, my desires. I knew, though, that the Holy Spirit was in prayer for me. He knows my heart. He knows what I need to say and says it for me.  And Squirt came out beautifully. Crying after waking up, just li...

baby gowns

Moose had his surgery today. So far, so good. We got to the hospital (oddly enough, no tears despite the no food policy) and put him in this little hospital gown. He looked so stinking cute in it! I only got pictures on my phone of him in it, but, boy, he's adorable. He cried only a bit when the nurse took him away from me (Heather, this is when I broke down, too!). After that I guess he was a trooper. He got put to sleep (I've tried writing this a few different ways - still sounds awful) for 10 minutes or so. The same lady who gave me my epidural administered his sleepy gas. I got to be there when he woke up. I think he was confused and groggy; I was sitting behind him and talking to him, so he reached up to the nurse. But then I gave him water. He liked me then. ha. He did not want the water! So he had to cry up to his room (not in the elevator because he was so astonished by that) until I got him formula. Then he was mad that it was in a cup and not a bottle. So I gave him R...
