Cave Tools brand BBQ Brush (review)

When most people think of grilling, they think of summertime. Not me. If it's nice enough outside, I don't care the season, I like to grill. Doesn't matter what's being grilled either: burgers, chicken, pork chops, hot dogs (oh I love me a good hot dog). It just tastes better! I even tried to grill bacon once...I about killed our grill on that one. But wouldn't it have tasted awesome?! Hard to improve on bacon but I think grilling could! see? all shiny! I digress. With grilling so much, our grill gets dirty. We've tried cheap brushes from the store and they work ok; nothing fancy. Then I got to try Cave Tools BBQ Brush and I love it! It was shiny when I got it but now it's dirty from all the hard work it does. I don't have to push super hard like with the cheap ones to get my grill clean. I just liked that pretty much with one swipe, I was done cleaning that section. I don't waste a lot of time on grill maintenance like that so it's nice to...

night out with friends

As you know, our friends (the Spiderlegs) are moving away. On Sunday there was a going away party for them at this really beautiful park nearby. I named myself the unofficial photographer of the evening (which was weird because I now realize that I didn't get pictures of Mr. Spiderlegs or his family - I did but they turned out blurry so it's like I didn't...oops). Anyway, here are some pictures from the affair. Cake #1: It doesn't matter if they move to Timbuktu, home is where the heart is! Cake #1: LJ's favorite colors! family BBQ fun

Image
This past weekend, my mom put together a family BBQ for my Grandma Marilyn, Big A, and my Uncle Rick's birthdays. This is the first of family get-togethers in awhile and the first where everyone actually showed up (or at least most people). Usually my one cousins may make an appearance but that's about it. We left here around 1 on Saturday & made it in time to pick up my great grandma, Maxine, to bring her to the BBQ. She sure was talkative! I can imagine though that she gets lonely living by herself in an apartment building. And she does adore Tristan! When we got to my grandma's house, we helped set out food while my Dad manned the barbecue. Everyone was assigned to bring something - we took our famous homemade cheesecake lovingly made by my husband this time. So good! There were hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni & potato salad, 2 types of devil's eggs, baked beans...yummy! Then for dessert we had birthday cake, cheesecake, & ice cream. Oh yeah! I played host...

Summertime BBQs

Today was our first BBQ of the summer! It was so nice to sit in the shade & eat good food while Tristan took a nap in the house. This BBQ was at the J Crew house; they had a TON of people there. Dad J pastored (is that a verb?) at church today & they invited a lot of their friends to come to the service too. That equaled a lot of children at church. It was nice to see so many pews filled, but different to share the nursery. Moose seemed to like watching the little girls play around in there, though. I like getting him around other kids; he does pretty well. Jorja is really good at sharing & playing with him...just sometimes he tries to lean on her or she'll try to pick him up. Very cute but doesn't quite work. But the cook out was great fun. The A-Fam came too and so did TA's brother & fiance, H. I like her a lot so we chatted it up. I got to chat with S, too, & hear about her new job with Crusades. I did get to talk with a few moms (I don't think I ...
