Yurbuds (review & GIVEAWAY!)
I can't remember the first time I heard about Yurbuds - possibly on a running blog or magazine. I'm not really a tech-geek so I don't really stay up on what's new in the techy world. I don't text so obviously I'm not into the iPhones. My iPod is older and a hand-me-down. We don't own an iPad or any other tablet (although our kids do have a Leap Pad). Cutting to the chase, I don't care about gadgets - much.
I don't know if you really consider headphones to be gadgets, but they go with electronics, so I do. I knew from the moment I saw their sweet ads that I wanted Yurbuds. Their price tag was a little out of my range ($29.99 - $50) for headphones. It's hard for me to recommend buying something so expensive that's so tiny. However, once I tried these Yurbuds Inspire sport earphones out - they are worth the money!
Why?
1. These earphones were "developed by women for women" and are "designed specifically to fit smaller ears." What a relief! I have tried several earbuds that just don't fit - I thought my ears were weirdly small or something.
2. They have these cool Twist Lock feature that guarantees they will never fall out. Never! I have ran about 6 times with these so far - two of those runs 5 or more miles. I have had zero fall outs. That was my biggest annoyance with other earphones. You have to figure out how to do the Twist Lock - it's not that hard but you have to remember. Once you do, you're set to go.
3. The ear pieces are soft medical-grade silicone for comfortable fit AND sweat and germ resistant. This is germ season and I'll bet your ears get more germs than we give them credit for. And sometimes I slip one earphone into my bra for safekeeping while I'm running so I can better hear traffic so it's nice to know that won't kill them with the extra sweat (or germs).
4. There are multiple sizes. My set included two sizes. If those didn't work, I could just take a picture of the Yurbuds in my ear to get a new size. I think that's pretty cool. Luckily, the smaller of the two sizes works for me. I'm not 100% sure of how many sizes there are but if these fit my ears, I'll bet you can find a match!
These really have been a wonderful accessory to my runs. I think the sound quality is excellent. I've enjoyed music, podcasts, and audio books with these. I hope to continue to run with them for numerous miles! You can buy your pair at Target OR win a pair here!
