Chloe's Winter Wonderland & The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That (DVD review & giveaway)

From the NCircle Entertainment studio, I bring to you my review about The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That: Told From the Cold and Chloe's Winter Wonderland (both available from  your local retailer or at NCircle's website for $9.99 each).
My family loves The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That. I, like many of my generation, was raised on the Cat. I've read most of the books by Dr. Seuss and seen several adaptations of The Cat in the Hat. So this striped-capped feline and I go way back. I have enjoyed getting to learn new things in a fun way with my kids through the other CitHKaLAT (ha) DVDs we have, and Told From the Cold (aren't the titles clever?) is no different. In this one you join Nick and Sally to learn about snow, penguins, and black bears. Moose and Squirt enjoy the songs from Cat in the Hat... and I tend to end up singing along with them (or later in the grocery store by myself) because the songs are so catchy. You just really can't go wrong with this show! The information is not going to stick with my little ones yet but I do think they learn from it. And any time you can make learning enjoyable, isn't that awesome? At 45 minutes long, I really appreciate the brevity of this show. It's entertainment but it doesn't take up our whole morning or evening.

Chloe's Winter Wonderland was a different DVD for my family. Being the only girl, it's not often I watch girly things. I think the idea behind this DVD is really cool for little girls or boys who like to dress up (we happen to have a little friend who loves to play dress up!!). It's neat to show them that they can "go" other places when they dress up; kind of like reading a book (we saw a rendition of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella and so it reminds me of the "In my own little corner..." song). This DVD isn't really up my boys' alley as far as tastes, but they really tend to like what they know. I only get them to watch Charlie Brown specials because they've seen previews on other DVDs that we own! But I think this is a cute show!! Again with being such a short show (35 minutes), it's a nice little break to your every day.

We LOVE WordWorld in this house. However, I'm super sad that it hasn't been on Netflix recently. We also really like the Cat in the Hat Knows... Pajanimals also looks good, got to love everything from Jim Henson!

It doesn't get too cold in TX, and when it does get a little chilly, it doesn't stick around long! We like shopping in Old Town Springs during the Christmas season...there are carolers and cute girly shops and boutiques and everything is decked out in Christmas decor!
