Vacation Viewpoints

Yeah that's a lame post title - give me a break. LOL I am actually very much enjoying this mini-vacation away from my sons. I miss them, don't get me wrong, but it's been nice (and quiet) to have time by myself and with Big A.

We dropped the boys off with my parents (well, my mom because I tried giving my dad directions and he told me I was telling the wrong person...ok) and headed out to Colorado. I love this state! Not that we've done any sight-seeing but it's been good. Sunday we didn't do anything really - tried out the pool. We got an upgrade on our room when we checked in bc I said it was our first time away from our boys in 3 years - so sweet (but we haven't used the whirlpool at all haha).

Monday Big A had seminar work stuff (boring) while I hung out at the hotel all day (slightly boring). I got some pool workout in (30 minutes and really I didn't know what I was doing so yeah). I read some Max Lucado (review coming soon) and watched a bunch of tv. I realized I don't miss having cable; there is nothing on during the days (well there's a lot of smut). I like hulu because I can watch what I want when I'm going to watch something; that's super nice. I took a great nap - oh that was sweet.

Big A picked me up for dinner; we met his new colleagues (??) at Old Chicago (so I didn't get to wear my pretty new dress but that's ok). Then we came back to the hotel - I wanted to run, he wanted to nap. We had just laid down and he said, 'ok let's go for a run.' We were on our way to a trail (with a time limit bc we wanted to get to a movie) and stopped and just ran along sidewalks in the business district. 2.8 miles in 27 minutes - holy smokes. Forget that stuff about watching the elevation! I was speedy!! haha

Then we went to the movies; saw Grown Ups. Hilarious. I loved it! Then we came back and crashed (we are so old haha but it was midnight). Now I'm just waiting for his half-day seminar to be over so I can go meet him for lunch. Then we'll go to pick up my boys (yeah!!). Yes, I'm ready to go home. :) And come back to CO in a few weeks for a family vacation.

Sounds wonderful! I can't imagine how it must feel to be away for a while, after 3 years!

Have fun with the rest of the trip and great job on the run - impressive! :)

Glad you're having a nice vaca!
2.8 miles in 27 minutes? While on vacation?

WOWsers. I'm impressed. How nice to have a few days for just the two of you, too. Well, besides the work part....:)
Sounds like a relaxing fun little getaway! :) I like hulu too because you only have to watch about a total of 2 minutes of commercials and you can watch whatever shows you want to whenever you want to :D

We were away from our little ones for two weeks earlier this month. I didn't really miss them until the second to last day of our trip :) It was nice to be away as a couple knowing they were being well taken care of. Glad you did it!

Glad you got a mini vacation. We're on ours right now too-Nick's working and I'm sitting in a hotel room typing a research paper. It is mommy and me, but a safety aspect to it. Teaching her how to back float and the very beginnings of how to swim. (If that makes sense)
