surprised?

Tonight while watching Biggest Loser (last week's episode via hulu so please don't think I've seen this week's episode & ruin it for me, thanks lol), I told Big A my overall weight loss goal (to hit 129 lbs).

I think he about pooped his pants. haha

I don't think he expected me to want to lose a lot more than I already have. I know that I feel better than I did even months ago. I know that I look better than I did even months ago. I know that I'm healthier than I was even months ago. But I have more to do. I have more weight to lose. I have a healthier me waiting for me yet.

I haven't told anyone my goal yet. I didn't really have a goal until I dug deeper into my head. I want to lose 37 more pounds (or 40 to even it out). The Wii Fit Plus told me a long time ago (and keeps reminding me) that 129 would be an ideal weight for me. When I started using that, I thought that was impossible to reach.

But I started out this journey (not to sound too Biggest Loser-y on you here) weighing 193 pounds. I'm down to 166 (as of last week). That's 27 pounds which is a lot, but I have more work to do. And 129 doesn't seem impossible anymore.

However, I do need to start watching what I eat more. I have tried the calorie counting and will go back to it if I need to, but for now, I need to just watch that I don't overload my plate with large proportions. That I don't eat more sweets than necessary (or salty crackery snacks either). That I'm eating the right amount of fruits & veggies. That needs to be my main focus right now is getting that good stuff into my body. I do well when I want to but I need to want to all the time.

We eat a lot of the canned veggies at dinner. I need to start buying frozen corn again (sorry, I just can't take the frozen peas or green beans - yuck). I love cauliflower and broccoli. Carrots are ok but Anthony likes cooked and Moose likes them raw with ranch. Everyone but Moose likes strawberries. We all love grapes and apples/applesauce. Oranges are great when they're the right ones. It's not a lack of desire (and thanks to some supplemental government help, it's not out of budget either).

I also (finally) got the Jessica Seinfeld cookbook! I bought it as a Mother's Day gift for myself. So far we've only tried the pancakes with sweet potatoes (used baby's puree lol) and they were yummy. I can't wait to try more!!

I'm being beckoned to bed so nighty night!

EDIT TO ADD: FYI if I don't make it down to 129 I'm not going to be really depressed or anything. If I find a weight that I'm comfortable with and happy at, I'll stick with it. However, I would like to do my best to reach 129. For now, each pound is a goal. :D

Whoa, 129 is tiny!! I do not even REMEMBER how long it's been since I weighed that!
Wow! You are doing awesome..that is a huge weight loss already, you can do it!

I have that book as well and love it!
thats awesome girl!!! you're doing amazing!!!!!!!!!!
Portion control is so hard. The first time I ever looked at a serving size on a box of cereal I almost died...I seriously eat, like, 5 servings in a bowl and think it's normal! LOL

Good luck!

You are doing this the right way. You're changing the types of things on your plate and the amounts. I use those little saucer sized plates and it seems like just as much food because it fills more of the plate. I love that!

Good luck! You've lost a ton so far!
