little moments

Little moments make me happy. Maybe it's because the Brad Paisley song has been our song since we started dating. Whatever the reason, I wanted to share some little moments from our morning that have made me smile.

* Sleeping until 7 (although I was disappointed Big A didn't wake me up to work out)
* Sleeping in my own bed (so soft)
* Walking in on Moose sideways in his bed this morning
* Showering! Is that sad that is a little moment for me?
* Walking to see Big A at work (despite the winds)
* Not eating any junk today (other than gum but that's not bad)
* Uploading the "How Should a Christian Live?" CD on to my computer (downloading it to my iPod later for when I run) - I'm very excited about this devotional
* having Moose say "bye-bye radio" every time we shut the music off
* reading to Moose while lying on the floor
* not feeling guilty about the time I've spent on the computer today
* having the windows open!
* letting the baby sleep from 10:30-1:30 (poor guy is still not feeling well)
* putting shorts on the boys and myself

I think that's it so far. I hope the afternoon is as filled with small blessings.

What a great list. Yes, when you're a SAHM w/ little ones, getting a shower is heavenly.

Such a lovely list, Randi! I hope you enjoy your time this afternoon too.

And it is definitely not weird that you are excited about a shower. It is the highlight of my day most days.

Those were a lot of great little moments. I am glad you could sleep in! I hope you could go on a great run and not feel guilty about sleeping in. Your new devotional sounds good. I desperately need to do one.

Like my friend Erin shared in her "bragging" post, I don't necessarily want to "brag" about my boys but I am overjoyed at some of their accomplishments recently! So I will share with you! Moose is doing wonderfully at school. We moved him to the afternoon classroom and his teacher said that his behavior problems that they saw in the morning have virtually disappeared. Great! Twice last week (once at school and once at Sunday School) his teachers told me that he shared with someone. What a sigh of relief that one is; sharing is so hard but to know that what I'm implementing at home is working (even the itsy bitsiest bit!) is a relief.  I've noticed that baby toys are most enjoyed by the older crowd. Moose is also reading! I got the sight word list that kindergarteners start off with from his teacher - he read them all for me this morning. I bought a Chuggington book for him on their last book order - he read it by himself after only having it read

Greater (movie review)

Sports movies are some of my favorite ones; even better if they are underdog stories! "Greater" is just that - a true underdog story about Brandon Bulsworth who could be called the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. The movie follows Bulsworth from the time he's a kid. His mother is raising he and his brother (who is quite a bit older; old enough to be mistaken for his dad, laughably). His brother gives him a kick in the pants when Brandon claims he wants to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brandon was a heavy kid so no one really thought it would happen. However, Brandon worked as hard as he could and made it. Walked on the team and caught the attention of his coach who put some amazing work into this kid to help him become better. I love when coaches look at the heart of a player more than ability. This really is an amazing story, an amazing movie - full of inspiration and encouragement. We Choose Virtues (review & giveaway!)

I almost think I needed this Kids Kit from We Choose Virtues almost as much as my sons. I mean, check out this list: patience, kindness, obedience, diligence, forgiving, attentive, etc. I have such problems with patience and attentive (anyone else get distracted by stuff online?)! So I know that it's important to teach these virtues to my children, too (and learn alongside them). Jesus was patient, forgiving, obedient, diligent, forgiving, attentive, self-controlled, content, etc. We are supposed to imitate Jesus and so I thought this was a good way to help me teach them how to do that. image from the WCV website Like I said, I reviewed the Kids Kit.
