Valentine's Day

The morning started out by cuddling with my youngest in bed (well, more sleeping than cuddling but you know it was cozy).

We exchanged coupons (provided by my MOPS) we had filled out for one another. Moose got a small box of chocolates and we bought a large one for ourselves. I also broke out the Text-and-Learn I won from Dee just before Christmas (I was saving it for his birthday...but couldn't hold out that long). *He LOVES it!*

Poor Squirt got jipped this Valentine's Day. Not only did he not get any chocolate or cards...nothing, the poor guy ran a fever most of the day. He slept most of the morning; only had about an ounce of formula before church. During church, he slept most of it. While holding him as he was crabby, I noticed he was running a fever. At home it topped out at 102.6. After some Tylenol and more (and more and more) sleep, it was down in the lower 100s and 90s. He ate maybe close to a jar of food and about 6 ounces of water (tinged with juice). Right now, he's asleep again. Even a bath didn't make his day! I hope he feels better tomorrow.

I'm feeling worn down. I haven't worked out since Friday - and I think that's partially why I'm so tired. I ate too much crap (chocolate, ice cream, cake, blah blah) this weekend and my tummy is feeling that. I'm ready to be back into my work out mode!

I wouldn't say this was the best Valentine's Day ever but it was alright. Lots of movies (Princess Bride, Million Dollar Baby, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and family time (as Moose took a 10 minute nap on the way to church and, therefore, didn't take his usual afternoon nap).

oh man!! i hope the little man is feeling better!! my kids were absolute crabs this weekend....i don't know what it was, but they sure were in a mood!! and i feel ya on the work out mode...i didn't work out all weekend and i feel so gross! back to the gym tomorrow!! have a great week doll :)

Like my friend Erin shared in her "bragging" post, I don't necessarily want to "brag" about my boys but I am overjoyed at some of their accomplishments recently! So I will share with you! Moose is doing wonderfully at school. We moved him to the afternoon classroom and his teacher said that his behavior problems that they saw in the morning have virtually disappeared. Great! Twice last week (once at school and once at Sunday School) his teachers told me that he shared with someone. What a sigh of relief that one is; sharing is so hard but to know that what I'm implementing at home is working (even the itsy bitsiest bit!) is a relief.  I've noticed that baby toys are most enjoyed by the older crowd. Moose is also reading! I got the sight word list that kindergarteners start off with from his teacher - he read them all for me this morning. Greater (movie review)

Sports movies are some of my favorite ones; even better if they are underdog stories! "Greater" is just that - a true underdog story about Brandon Bulsworth who could be called the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. The movie follows Bulsworth from the time he's a kid. His mother is raising he and his brother (who is quite a bit older; old enough to be mistaken for his dad, laughably). His brother gives him a kick in the pants when Brandon claims he wants to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brandon was a heavy kid so no one really thought it would happen. However, Brandon worked as hard as he could and made it. Walked on the team and caught the attention of his coach who put some amazing work into this kid to help him become better. I love when coaches look at the heart of a player more than ability. This really is an amazing story, an amazing movie - full of inspiration and encouragement. We Choose Virtues (review & giveaway!)

I almost think I needed this Kids Kit from We Choose Virtues almost as much as my sons. I mean, check out this list: patience, kindness, obedience, diligence, forgiving, attentive, etc. I have such problems with patience and attentive (anyone else get distracted by stuff online?)! So I know that it's important to teach these virtues to my children, too (and learn alongside them). Jesus was patient, forgiving, obedient, diligent, forgiving, attentive, self-controlled, content, etc. We are supposed to imitate Jesus and so I thought this was a good way to help me teach them how to do that. image from the WCV website Like I said, I reviewed the Kids Kit.
