Thursday Tidbits

Well, my dear husband just can't seem to hang on to a job {said in joking fashion}. First he was fired two Julys ago, then we quit in Virginia, and now he's been laid off. 2010 is off to a good start, right?

Ok, I'll be honest with you {whisper} my husband already had another job offer. Remember the friend that helped us out before we moved across the country? He wants Big A to come work for him again.

Keeping with this honesty bit - I wasn't completely on board at first. I was thinking of all I'd be leaving: a great church, budding friendships, a wonderful library system (chock full of wonderful librarians), indoor play areas for winter time, stores less than 1/2 hour away, and a 3-bedroom apartment with a basement, my MOPS group (as I'm not sure if I'd be able to go to another MOPS because Moose doesn't want to stay in the nursery and some MOPS groups don't let you have your kids in meetings).

However, I've been reading Max Lucado's "Every Day Deserves a Chance." Lucado talks about giving each day a chance at being a good day; whether that day includes your spouse losing his job, a breakup, an argument, a whiny toddler (that rings a bell today)...all the way to the days that really are in the dumps: a close relative passing away, needing major surgery, etc.

Seeing as there are upsides to living down in the sticks, I chose to be happy about this decision. I know that my husband will be in a good job where he's happy, my boys will be raised in a small community, there is a library down there (and one in another large(r) town nearby), a new place to live and arrange stuff how I want, and my family will still be together. And ultimately, my pouting isn't going to change what's best for us or God's Plan for us. If He thinks it's best for us, then it is. :D

So our move may be sooner than we planned, but I'm sure it will all turn out alright. Give me a few months to adjust. First things first...we need to find a place to live!

Yikes and congrats! So, does that mean Virginia? You're going about this the best way, with a good attitude and your eyes towards God's will. I hope it is all smooth for y'all!

oh wow!! that's exciting!! so where are you going to be moving to? i can't wait to hear all about it!
The most important thing is that your family is all together, everything else falls into place. You will find good things that you love...start making a list of all the positives of living there.

When I read you have stores 1/2 hour away, I thought wow! I can literally walk to our nearest store. I would love to have some space away from this hectic lifestyle!
