here comes the individuality

Until now, Moose has never shown an interest in clothes - at all. He wears whatever I put him in.
Monday night, he was out of clean jammies so we put him in this Elmo PJ shirt I picked up at a garage sale (sans pants) and some shorts. Fine and dandy, right? Yeah, until I realized he was sweating his butt off in it. He was IN LOVE with this shirt from the time I showed him that Elmo and Dorothy (the goldfish) were on it. Well, when I realized he'd sweat too bad in it, I had Big A take it off him so I could cut the sleeves off. For those 2 minutes, you'd have thought the world ended. But I get the shirt back on him and he's happy as a clam.
The next morning, I get him out of his crib, change his diaper, and proceed to dress him. Shorts on, time for the shirt....nope, can't get him to take off "Elmo." I figure, oh
Luckily for me, Moose LOVES bathtime so Elmo came off at that time and disappeared down the stairs to be washed. So until the next installment of Elmo, I will enjoy that Squirt is too young to care about what he wears...even when I put him in ridiculously long socks because the weather is chilly and I don't have pants for him to wear (ok, I have a few pairs but not many to match stuff...I mean, I have kids in July...who needs long pants in July??). well, it's a shirt. So I let him keep it on while we go to Wal-mart. All day, he pulls at it like in the picture, to show me where "Dorty" is and to tell me Elmo is on the shirt, too.

maybe he sees you dress the baby, and it has made him pay attention to his own clothes a little more... and plus, elmo IS really awesome! :)

Ha! Let me guess? Moose must me 2! My 2 year old daughter loves her Dora nightgown and made me put it on her for her nap yesterday!

SO cute! They are just too adorable!

What size is Moose again? I have some fall stuff I put away that my little one outgrew. I think it's 4T. Let me know!

Like my friend Erin shared in her "bragging" post, I don't necessarily want to "brag" about my boys but I am overjoyed at some of their accomplishments recently! So I will share with you! Moose is doing wonderfully at school. We moved him to the afternoon classroom and his teacher said that his behavior problems that they saw in the morning have virtually disappeared. Great! Twice last week (once at school and once at Sunday School) his teachers told me that he shared with someone. What a sigh of relief that one is; sharing is so hard but to know that what I'm implementing at home is working (even the itsy bitsiest bit!) is a relief.  I've noticed that baby toys are most enjoyed by the older crowd. Moose is also reading! I got the sight word list that kindergarteners start off with from his teacher - he read them all for me this morning. Greater (movie review)

Sports movies are some of my favorite ones; even better if they are underdog stories! "Greater" is just that - a true underdog story about Brandon Bulsworth who could be called the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. The movie follows Bulsworth from the time he's a kid. His mother is raising he and his brother (who is quite a bit older; old enough to be mistaken for his dad, laughably). His brother gives him a kick in the pants when Brandon claims he wants to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brandon was a heavy kid so no one really thought it would happen. However, Brandon worked as hard as he could and made it. Walked on the team and caught the attention of his coach who put some amazing work into this kid to help him become better. I love when coaches look at the heart of a player more than ability. This really is an amazing story, an amazing movie - full of inspiration and encouragement. We Choose Virtues (review & giveaway!)

I almost think I needed this Kids Kit from We Choose Virtues almost as much as my sons. I mean, check out this list: patience, kindness, obedience, diligence, forgiving, attentive, etc. I have such problems with patience and attentive (anyone else get distracted by stuff online?)! So I know that it's important to teach these virtues to my children, too (and learn alongside them).
