what?!

Now, I know that I have the best kid in the WORLD (as I know each mom out there knows the exact same of their child/children), but this is insane, I think. My Moose LOVES to go to bed. I mean it, he LOVES to go to bed.
Around bedtime (8:30 or tonight 7:30 because he got up early), he gets cranky & irritable. We ask him, "Do you want to go night-night?" Almost instantaneously his mood improves. He stands up, goes to either myself or Big A and starts waving and saying, "Buh-bye, buh-bye."
I distinctly remember recall him a week ago, laying on the floor by the couch, sucking his thumb. I asked if he wanted to go to bed, he sat up, stuck his tongue out like a happy dog, and went straight to the stairs before I had a chance to stand up. It was SO fast.
This is crazy, right? Don't most kids HATE going to bed? I mean, I am totally NOT COMPLAINING! I love this (well, I manage the 6:00 wake-up cry). I think he just knows he wants to be in his quiet room to sleep. Big A is sort of the same way, just likes to get his sleep. Me? I stay up and read half the night. But are there other kids like this, that just love to go to bed, to go to sleep?

I hope that someday when we have little ones, they will do the same thing. I hope that this just isn't a phase for you either. God only knows that very few of us wanted to go to bed at 7:30pm during our middle school years. Funny how we're eager for that sort of bedtime in our 20's and older!

That is my kind of kid!! I WISH A loved going to bed, I always end up sitting there and singing for 15 min before she actually will stop thinking of excuses of why she needs me.

Is it wrong that I hope my kid's favorite activity will be nap time? It sure is mine!

awwe, what a cutie.

Well, we aren't going to be around today because we have a TON of errands to run for Jeff's recital. He needs a haircut, we have to get copies of programs made, more stuff for the food, etc.... But again, I hope you guys can come on Sunday! Have fun at the game.

my LO goes usually with no problem to bed and I am glad we really have the screaming or crying, it makes life such a big step easier.

Like my friend Erin shared in her "bragging" post, I don't necessarily want to "brag" about my boys but I am overjoyed at some of their accomplishments recently! So I will share with you! Moose is doing wonderfully at school. We moved him to the afternoon classroom and his teacher said that his behavior problems that they saw in the morning have virtually disappeared. Great! Twice last week (once at school and once at Sunday School) his teachers told me that he shared with someone. What a sigh of relief that one is; sharing is so hard but to know that what I'm implementing at home is working (even the itsy bitsiest bit!) is a relief.  I've noticed that baby toys are most enjoyed by the older crowd. Moose is also reading! I got the sight word list that kindergarteners start off with from his teacher - he read them all for me this morning. Greater (movie review)

Sports movies are some of my favorite ones; even better if they are underdog stories! "Greater" is just that - a true underdog story about Brandon Bulsworth who could be called the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. The movie follows Bulsworth from the time he's a kid. His mother is raising he and his brother (who is quite a bit older; old enough to be mistaken for his dad, laughably). His brother gives him a kick in the pants when Brandon claims he wants to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brandon was a heavy kid so no one really thought it would happen. However, Brandon worked as hard as he could and made it. Walked on the team and caught the attention of his coach who put some amazing work into this kid to help him become better. I love when coaches look at the heart of a player more than ability. This really is an amazing story, an amazing movie - full of inspiration and encouragement. Big A is forever telling me to not say certain things on the road. Don't call me dear. Don't gasp or shout; I'll think there's a deer. Although these are paraphrased (and he claims he's never said the first one), these are the basis for this tale. We went to the Husker game last night. Scratch that - we worked at the Husker game last night. We helped his aunt (and her church) sell backrests as a fundraiser. Big A has done this most of last year & all of this year so far. He loves it. You sell backrests until kickoff, then you watch the game, and pick up the rests after. You're there 90 minutes before game time and for about an hour or so after the game. And you sometimes get leftover food (Runzas and hotdogs and popcorn - please fine out what a Runza is for those of you who aren't from Nebraska....it's so yummy!).
