This is excerpted from my husband's Facebook status: Big A: so where did September come from? Kurt: It came from God...He created it so that football could exist...and mankind rejoiced! Big A: ah yes how could I forget that famous verse from the book of Huskers 15:7 which says "And the Lord God said Go Big Red." Cale: Big A it is actually spelled Huskiah 15:7 Matt: I like the part in chapter 18 where the demons are driven out of the Iowa fans and they come to see the error of their ways. They leave their lives of failure far behind, trading their ugly yellow in for beautiful scarlet. It just shows how there's hope for every man. I "like" this conversation and leave you with this for the weekend: Go Big Red!

It's game day ladies and gents! Go Big Red!

Go Big Red. What a game! If you missed it, totally your loss. Looked like Mizzou was going to stomp our Huskers but they pulled it outta somewhere. Woo hoo!! Check out this major Husker fan dressed as Herbie the Husker (the old style). Very cool.

Did you watch the Husker game on Saturday? Yes....we did get killed by Missouri....big time. 52-17. Ouch. But that's not the cool part! MY husband was on ESPN! Apparently in the first quarter, the camera panned in on his handsome, smiling face. We got phone calls, emails from people "did you see Big A on tv?" Did I? No. We don't get ESPN. I missed my husband's television debut. Shoot. But a national audience did get to see it. Isn't he handsome?

...well, sort of. Moose has been to parades before but this past Saturday was his first appearance in one. We had so much fun riding on the A-Team's float! The theme of the parade was Celebrity (or Hollywood...something like that). The float's theme was "Little Bo Peep feeds her sheep at [the A-team's feed store]". Peaches was Little Bo Peep (in her flower girl dress). Birdie was a sheep (there was another lamb but I didn't have my camera out to get her in the picture but she was adorable, too). Moose was Mr. Bo Peep (aka the farmer). Daddy & Moose at the parade (walking so Moose wouldn't become Grumpy). Moose and Mommy hanging out on the float (not my best looking day, for sure). Later Big A & I went to the Husker game (another win, thank you very much!). Before our friends' open house, Big A sent me a message in the cupcakes he made & I was to decorate. Big A is forever telling me to not say certain things on the road. Don't call me dear. Don't gasp or shout; I'll think there's a deer. Although these are paraphrased (and he claims he's never said the first one), these are the basis for this tale. We went to the Husker game last night. Scratch that - we worked at the Husker game last night. We helped his aunt (and her church) sell backrests as a fundraiser. Big A has done this most of last year & all of this year so far. He loves it. You sell backrests until kickoff, then you watch the game, and pick up the rests after. You're there 90 minutes before game time and for about an hour or so after the game. And you sometimes get leftover food (Runzas and hotdogs and popcorn - please fine out what a Runza is for those of you who aren't from Nebraska....it's so yummy!). Anyway...we went to the game & a few of our friends helped pick up the chairs voluntarily after so (with that help plus our amazing sp...

It's game day, folks! My boys are dressed and ready to go! Get ready for the new season of Husker football. Go Big Red!
