Holiday Gift Idea: Groovy Baby Action Gear (review)

The weather is getting cooler here in Kansas but I really want to continue to run outside for as long as possible. This desire is hindered by a few things: I own no running pants (merely capris) and my arm warmers leave something to be desired (they are Big A's old dress socks cut to fit my arms). The arm warmers aren't long enough to cover most of my arm so my arms get cold.

Groovy Baby Action Gear to the rescue!! Katie, the shop owner, sent me a pair of Wonder Woman arm warmers to use! While Katie admired my upcycle idea of sock arm warmers, she felt "Old dress socks for a Wonder Woman like you is completely unacceptable."

I love that these WW arm warmers cover the majority of my arms. They are snug on the top so they don't slide. I've worn them for over 8 runs and I've never had to adjust. The arm warmers aren't all sweaty when I'm done; I like the material they're made from. I can see the red on the top of mine is rubbing off but I believe that's just how that material works (I've had some headbands made from similar materials do the same thing). The lowest price I saw was $22 and they go up to $32; that's a fair price for homemade arm warmers from quality material. The sewing is great too; although if your skin chaffes easily, watch the seam. It never bothered me but I don't have sensitive skin.

I wore my Wonder Woman arm warmers with my 4th of July tech tee for Election Day; trying to be patriotic. I felt patriotic. Squirt has also stolen my arm warmers to wear himself (when I let them when they have had time to cool off after a run...gross).

Groovy Baby Action Gear has some awesome arm warmers to go with your running costumes. I know the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend is coming up in February, so this is the perfect time to get a pair of arm warmers to run a practice run in before the big day (remember, no wearing new gear on race day!). If I were lucky enough to run Disney I would be:

although I know Tinker Bell is a popular choice, too.

The store has several Wonder Woman variations on arm warmers:

You can upgrade your sleeves to add cuffs, pockets, or thumb holes, too. I think that's pretty nifty!

And do you have a new baby in the family? Start them off super with Baby Cuffs (like baby mittens) and a sweet little headband:

Or if you have a superhero fan in your family; they would love these little kid sleeves:

If you heat up while you run, you may also find these shorties to be helpful to keep your arms warm during your run without over heating!

My race car crazy kids would love these checkered arm warmers, too.

Apparently, zombie runs are becoming popular. Here is a sleeve for you fanatics!

These arm warmers are fair priced, well sewn, and just plain fun. I think they would make a perfect gift for your RBF (running best friend) or yourself for the upcoming holidays!

Disclaimer: I received the pair of arm warmers in order to write an honest review. Others may have differing experiences with the product and/or shop.
