wayward traveler

OK, maybe I wasn't wayward but I was a traveler. April 23 around 7am, we gathered at the church to take off for Manila, Philippines for eight days. Leaving my husband proved to be truly harder than leaving my kids - I should've known this but wasn't prepared. Big A is not, like, an emotional mess, but he does show appropriate emotion. And he let it out that morning - phew! Moose woke up when I kissed them good-bye and cried a little. I'm still trying to figure out how much he understood about me being gone.

I decided on a whim to take a Lightning McQueen with me on the trip. I took Dirt Track McQueen that the boys don't play with so they wouldn't miss him but it was still LM. I thought that would make pictures more fun for them. So here he is waiting for the plane in Kansas City.

on the plane in Kansas City!

He thought about applying for a credit card in the Detroit airport, but decided against it.

Superman joined the party for a ride on the moving sidewalks.

LM enjoyed his sandwich from Charley's in Detroit.

My roomie for the week, Jay!

I did a lot of sleeping with this little mask on the plane rides.

Had to try out the toilets in Japan...ok I didn't try this one out, but it was interesting.

Welcome to (a brief layover in) Japan.

we're in Manila!!!
I will put up more pictures and tell more about our time in Manila as the week(s) go on. Be patient as I have to start packing. That's right! We're moving again but this time to OUR house! We close on the 22nd so be praying for this process. God has truly blessed us and we are so thankful for a stable place to call our own and raise our boys.
