Meditteranean Snacks lentil chips (review & giveaway)

From the Mediterranean Snacks website:
The Mediterranean Snack Food Co. is an entrepreneurial, privately-held company founded in 2005. Our mission is innovation to produce great tasting, nutritionally superior snacks.
Using the superfood benefits of lentils in combination with whole grains and legumes, we create unique healthy and delicious snacks.
We use only the highest quality, non-GMO, and gluten-free ingredients, creating snacks to satisfy even the most health-conscious food enthusiast.
But our commitment to nutritional excellence never causes us to lose sight of the most important feature of good snacking – Great Taste!

We were able to test out three of the Mediterranean Snacks lentil chips: sea salt, rosemary, and cracked pepper. I wanted to review the snacks after the boys enjoyed their rosemary lentil crackers. Personally, I enjoyed the lentil crackers were better than the chips in taste (if I compared the rosemary flavors of each). When I first opened the bag of sea salt lentil chips, the smell reminded me of pork rinds (they don't taste like that at all). The sea salt was a subtle flavor. This kind was not my favorite, although my husband liked them. He just went on a business trip and took a few bags along with him. The good thing about that is that these are healthier than other snacks he could be eating on the road! I definitely did not like the cracked pepper but I'm not a pepper fan. I don't use it much in my cooking, even, so I'm probably not the best judge for that flavor. The rosemary was my favorite flavor. If you're unfamiliar with rosemary taste, it's not garlic-y but closer to a salt (at least in this snack). I enjoyed it while we were out to my parents' house for Christmas this past weekend. Not an overwhelming taste, but I think that's a good thing.

The boys ate these like they would any other chip. They don't comment much on their food but they do have their dislikes. Moose and Squirt never hesitated to gobble the lentil chips or crackers up. I could say that the lentil chips have a different texture, so if you have a texture-picky eater, they may not like this. It all depends on what they're used to. These chips are gluten-free, which fits into our changing lifestyle (I'll have updates on that soon, too). If your family is going gluten-free, please check into this company's snacks. They are some of the better snacks I've found thus far.

I poked around on the Mediterranean Snacks website for awhile. You can get a $1.00 off coupon here; I think that's very nice of the company. Also! Mediterranean Snacks has generously offered to host a giveaway here at the S Club!

And, along with the lentil chips, all of their products look pretty tasty. I wouldn't mind trying the no bull barbeque wingers, either. We tend to like barbeque flavored chips here at my house :).
