metamorphoo
Metamorphoo: Greek for "transformation." Root of the
word "metamorphosis." This is the primary goal of The Truth Project: for
individuals to be transformed into the likeness of Christ by gazing on
the face of God. This process is not easy and we often struggle with
God's Truth claims in the "cocoon.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:2
And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one on earth could bleach them. - Mark 9:2-3
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. - 2 Corinthians 3:18
So often as new believers, Christians assume that feeling, that high after you've been saved or to a big event, will stay with us forever. We will always "feel" like Christians, like spiritually high. Does that make sense? I know I've been on spiritual highs before - you WANT them to last forever! But they don't.
The transformation of not being conformed to this world is a daily task. We need to (as Romans 12:2 states) renew our minds. Our minds and hearts are not strangers to one another, there is a connection there that needs to be made. We too often don't want to study the Word (i.e. it's boring, I don't know where to read, I don't get anything out of it). We don't want to learn more. But even the Bible says we should learn more!
Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity... - Hebrews 6:1
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. - 1 Peter 2:2-3
We must crave that pure spiritual milk - the foundation of our faith is that Jesus Christ came to earth to spread the truth. He died on the cross in propitiation (full payment) of our sins (yours and mine!). He was resurrected so that we may have defeat over death itself. These things are not simple, but they are pure and plain. This is the absolute truth (no postmodernism here!).
From that truth, we must study the Scriptures in order to defend our faiths against those that Satan has put against us. We must hold fast to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the prophets that came before Him so that we may remain steady in times of defeat, struggle, persecution that we are bound to stumble upon here on earth.
So read your Bible, read any part of it, take it to heart - take flight with your faith!
The Word is a love letter to you from our Father. He wants to build a relationship with YOU! Isn't that amazing? He made the whole universe and every living thing in it, and yet He wants to personally know you. Takes my breath away.

this is the cocoon that has attached to our door frame; I'm so excited to watch this cocoon "hatch" |
