Aurora: Softy Soakers (review & giveaway)

Brand new from Aurora, creator of soft and cuddly plush toys (like Moose's fox from the Henry Doorly Zoo), is a new line of toys: Softy Soakers! Softy Soakers are plush and super colorful sea life pals that, when soaked in the water for just a few seconds, will grow from a 2D animal to a 3D animal!

We got the shark to soak and play with. Moose caught on right away when I dipped Shark in the tub with them. The website says that you should towel off the soaker after soaking it for 40 seconds in water. I toweled ours off but it wasn't completely dry so I had the boys wait to play with it. 

A day or two later when the shark was drying out and getting flat again, Moose asked to put it back in water. It's so cool how fast he caught on to how the shark works. Squirt only likes it because it's Moose's, but I think he would enjoy an animal of his own - perhaps the turtle. I love that this is something you can do over and over again - we've soaked and re-soaked our shark a few times now. The colors are still vibrant and Moose still enjoys carrying him around.

Those are super cute Randi! I can't decide which one I like the most. That turtle is pretty cute. My girls are into sea horses right now and thought that little purple guy was cute too! Fun stuff!

I like the dolphin a lot. But I think Avery would like any of these, they are very cute.

MOB Society: Bragging on Boys

Like my friend Erin shared in her "bragging" post, I don't necessarily want to "brag" about my boys but I am overjoyed at some of their accomplishments recently! So I will share with you! Moose is doing wonderfully at school. We moved him to the afternoon classroom and his teacher said that his behavior problems that they saw in the morning have virtually disappeared. Great! Twice last week (once at school and once at Sunday School) his teachers told me that he shared with someone. What a sigh of relief that one is; sharing is so hard but to know that what I'm implementing at home is working (even the itsy bitsiest bit!) is a relief.  I've noticed that baby toys are most enjoyed by the older crowd. Greater (movie review)

Sports movies are some of my favorite ones; even better if they are underdog stories! "Greater" is just that - a true underdog story about Brandon Bulsworth who could be called the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. The movie follows Bulsworth from the time he's a kid. His mother is raising he and his brother (who is quite a bit older; old enough to be mistaken for his dad, laughably). His brother gives him a kick in the pants when Brandon claims he wants to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brandon was a heavy kid so no one really thought it would happen. However, Brandon worked as hard as he could and made it. Walked on the team and caught the attention of his coach who put some amazing work into this kid to help him become better. I love when coaches look at the heart of a player more than ability. This really is an amazing story, an amazing movie - full of inspiration and encouragement. We Choose Virtues (review & giveaway!)

I almost think I needed this Kids Kit from We Choose Virtues almost as much as my sons. I mean, check out this list: patience, kindness, obedience, diligence, forgiving, attentive, etc. I have such problems with patience and attentive (anyone else get distracted by stuff online?)! So I know that it's important to teach these virtues to my children, too (and learn alongside them).
