Vital IDs (review & giveaway)

Through Running Diva Mom, I discovered this cool website, Belly Charms. Although, as the name suggests, they do sell belly charms - there is a lot more going on with this business. They have flexible maternity belly button rings, mom bracelets, and other maternity jewelry. You can also buy various IDs from Vital IDs from Belly Charms.

I was able to review 2 of the Vital IDs: the Child Safety Vital ID Wristband and the Kids Safe Club - Safety ID Bracelet for Children (3-pack). I wanted the first to be for Moose and the latter for Squirt to try out. With Moose's speech delays, I worry about losing him at the grocery store or any bigger place. Beyond "what's your name?" he wouldn't be able to give the proper information in order to find me. And Squirt has a penicillin allergy so I'm afraid that if I lose him somewhere and he gets hurt, he would be given penicillin. I don't think his allergy is THAT bad, but I'd much prefer to take precautions.

this is my wrist because Moose wouldn't keep it on for a picture

lots of room for vital info like allergies or disabilities or...anything!

We went shopping a week ago which gave me the perfect opportunity to really try out the Vital IDs (I mean, in our town, if I lose them...they won't be far!). While our state's capitol is far from a large city, it's big enough that your kids can get lost. We went to a mall and Super Target, so before leaving home, I strapped the kids' IDs on.

Moose was originally going to wear the Child Safety Vital ID Wristband. However, with its velcro, he could easily take it off - and he didn't want to wear it. So I put the Kids Safe Club bands on both boys.

Luckily, neither kid got lost on our shopping expedition, but I felt comfort knowing that if they did lose us (which could easily happen as much as Moose runs while we shop) that someone would be able to look in their bracelet(s) and see who they were and find our numbers. The bad thing about these bracelets is that they are intended to be disposable. That's fine but I found it impossible to take them off without destroying them. I'm not really sure how someone could look in their bracelets without ripping or cutting it off.

I really like the Child Safety Vital ID Wristband. It's nicely sent with two ID cards - so you can change information if necessary. I used one for each child so I can put it on whoever I want. It's easier put on Squirt because he can't pull it off, but it's intended for children ages 2-8.
I like how the ID is sort of hidden in the bracelet. I took it out and it took me a minute to figure out how to put it back in.

The Kids Safe Club bands come in packs of 3 and are water-proof. You need to use a fine-tip permanent marker to write the information - and write small. I believe these would be good for camps or amusement park trips, even fairs. Something disposable that would still help your child find you if lost. They are $6.99 for the 3-pack.

The Child Safety Vital ID Wristband comes in a variety of colors - camo seems to be popular. These are also waterproof with the ID tucked nicely inside the band. 100% latex free - good to know if that allergy runs in your family! Made for children ages 3-9 but, as you saw, I can wear ours too. It does come with 2 ID cards; wonderful if you spend time at a relative's house or you move. These are $11.99 each.

Vital IDs from Belly Charms also offers Medical ID WristbandsSport ID Wristbands, Rider ID and Reflective System for Helmets, and Runner ID for Shoes.

Pretty neat idea! I'd probably go with gray so it could match anything.

On Thanksgiving I had fun watching my little girls dance and entertain their Great Grandma. It was sweet.

Something fun on Thanksgiving... I had dinner with my son and husband. This is special because my hubs travels a lot for work. We weren't sure he'd be able to have dinner with us. Also, special because my toddler has multiple severe food allergies, and we did not have a reaction that day!
