Amy Knapp generously allowed me to review her Christian Family Organizer and Big Grid Family Wall Organizer. I was going to review the Homeschooling Organizer but decided against it because we're not actually doing preschool this year (maybe next year).
Please read more about Amy and her story here on her website.
The Christian Family Organizer is awesome! It runs from July 2010 - December 2011 so I don't have to search this year for another planner (phew, one New Year's Resolution checked off my list). This is just what I need: a clean-looking, organized place to put my schedule and thoughts. There is a place for my To Do list, my grocery list (perforated so I can take it to the store with me), my praise and prayer requests (very important for me and so nice to have one place for these), and a place to plan my weekly menu. Not to mention that the days of the week have so much space for me to write on. I have tiny handwriting but I like a lot of space (no lines) to write down what I have planned. The monthly calendars are really big too which I like because I not only copy my schedule there, but try to put important birthdays, anniversaries, born again birthdays, and due dates on there. My favorite part of this planner is the verse. I (like many of you) am a busy mom and I don't always get to sit down for a Quiet Time with God. So at least with this, I have a piece of Scripture right at my fingertips to read. Amy obviously knows the Christian woman's heart with this planner - or at least mine!
The Big Grid Family Wall Organizer is also a dream come true for my calendar/planner OCD. BIG days so I can write a lot on there (some days we have a LOT going on). I had a "mom calendar" with everyone's own line per day, but that didn't really work well for me. Sometimes events overlap or I have more than one thing going on per person per day. A big open area works so much better and I just use our initials to tell who has what (I would color code but that would take so much more time LOL). There is also a place to write down your meals on this, which is nice. I like the extra reminders for meals because I often forget to set out meat for our meals. This has helped me so far. I like the space at the top "Don't Forget" because sometimes we have a really important thing do to that month. For example, Moose has a big appointment coming up next month and I also wrote where we're spending each holiday at the top of those months. There's a place for monthly projects which is neat. I would like to fill this space with something, perhaps crafts or house projects. There are also other monthly projects already printed if you want to follow those, too. There are stickers (no school, birthdays, etc) but I don't know how much I'll remember to use these.website.
