Kitten Party

NCircle Entertainment supplied us with a copy of Kitten Party for review. I jumped at the offer to review this DVD because my boys loved Puppy Party.
In Kitten Party, kids meet Whiskers who takes them around to meet "all of his kitten friends as they throw a fun filled Kitten Party!" (from DVD case). So it may sound silly to you (and me) but honestly, my boys love cats so this was purr-fect for them (I had to throw in the pun).
This is not an animated show, but it uses real kittens from real breeds to teach kids about the different types of cats. There are over 50 kittens in the video, so a lot of variety.
Kittens are just so cuddly and cute to watch, not to mention funny! You can't tell me you've never sat around on YouTube watching cat videos - this is just better than that! There are even three kitten sing-along songs; Moose didn't care much for the songs but Squirt had a good ol' time dancing around to them.
We bought the boys a DVD player for our van. On trips of any size, I prefer them to watch something like Kitten Party over Blue's Clues. It upsets them less when it stops (which is not to say they don't enjoy it while watching) and I feel they get more out of this DVD than others they watch.

Man I am jealous of your reviewing items. Normally its kids stuff but asdfgggg this sort of thing is so fun!!!

Like my friend Erin shared in her "bragging" post, I don't necessarily want to "brag" about my boys but I am overjoyed at some of their accomplishments recently! So I will share with you! Moose is doing wonderfully at school. We moved him to the afternoon classroom and his teacher said that his behavior problems that they saw in the morning have virtually disappeared. Great! Twice last week (once at school and once at Sunday School) his teachers told me that he shared with someone. What a sigh of relief that one is; sharing is so hard but to know that what I'm implementing at home is working (even the itsy bitsiest bit!) is a relief.  I've noticed that baby toys are most enjoyed by the older crowd. Greater (movie review)

Sports movies are some of my favorite ones; even better if they are underdog stories! "Greater" is just that - a true underdog story about Brandon Bulsworth who could be called the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. The movie follows Bulsworth from the time he's a kid. His mother is raising he and his brother (who is quite a bit older; old enough to be mistaken for his dad, laughably). His brother gives him a kick in the pants when Brandon claims he wants to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brandon was a heavy kid so no one really thought it would happen. However, Brandon worked as hard as he could and made it. Walked on the team and caught the attention of his coach who put some amazing work into this kid to help him become better. I love when coaches look at the heart of a player more than ability. This really is an amazing story, an amazing movie - full of inspiration and encouragement. We Choose Virtues (review & giveaway!)

I almost think I needed this Kids Kit from We Choose Virtues almost as much as my sons. I mean, check out this list: patience, kindness, obedience, diligence, forgiving, attentive, etc. I have such problems with patience and attentive (anyone else get distracted by stuff online?)! So I know that it's important to teach these virtues to my children, too (and learn alongside them).
