Monday Meanderings (9/13/10)

Bible Study... The Mockingbird Parables (review soon)

Memory Verse...  Acts 17:24
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands."

Husband Encouragement...
* be a listening ear when he gets home from his first day on the job
* encourage him while he is learning new things at work
* encourage him to keep up with running these next few weeks until the half-marathon

Train Them Up...
* 10 minutes of mat time daily for Moose
* Speech therapy for Moose
* Read 3 books (at least) a day to each boy
* Use time outs as necessary for Squirt (and Moose)

Personal Goals...
* Run 4x this week (including a 5 mile fun run this weekend)
* Straighten my hair once this week
* Read my Bible daily

New Habit of the Month...
Do dishes after lunch time

MUST Do...
* library meeting tonight
* write a blog review over hero cape
* decide on Halloween costume for Big A so we can start looking for items to use

Zone... bedroom - make bed daily

Menu - We've realized the kids don't necessarily like the more complex things we eat so this week I'll make it simple

M - chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans
T - eggs & sausage
W - chicken strips (kids) & chicken salad
Th- sloppy joes & baked potatoes (I keep having this on the menu but haven't had it)
F - spaghetti (carb "loading")
S - leftovers or eat out @ lunch; homemade pizza
Su - sandwiches @ lunch; crockpot something or another :D

FUN THINGS!
* MOPS on Tuesday
* Fair in town (3 parades this week!)
* Saturday I will be running 5 miles in the run/walk I had to walk last year!!!

3 things I'm thankful for today...
1. new jobs
2. staying up late (although I'm tired this means I got to rock Squirt last night)
3. our speech therapist

** Question: Next Saturday (25th) is the Expo/Registration for the half-marathon (10-5). We just found out it's also the first birthday party of our niece and nephew (4-6). We hate to miss their party but we can't go up and register and drive home and then go back the next day (too far, too much fuel, too tiring). How would you handle it? I've thought about celebrating with the twins the following weekend - maybe watching them for their mom (and giving my MIL a weekend off as she watches them on weekends).

Hope Big A's off to a great start with his new job!
