Writer's Workshop

Every week Mama Kat hosts Writer's Workshop. Every week many participate (and on occasion, I join them). You should check it out if you've never done so; there are some fantastic writer's in the blogosphere (including the adorable Mama Kat herself).

The rules: Mama Kat posts the prompts a few days in advance. Pick a prompt (or two or three...) and write about it on your blog. On Thursday (that's today!) go link up at Mama Kat's & share the love by reading and commenting on other blogs who have joined in the fun.

The Prompts:
1.) Write about an experience you have had with a celebrity.
(inspired by Jenn from She Says…)
2.) Who have you forgotten about until right now? Think hard and list five people from your past that you really should have written something about by now but haven’t. Circle the name of the person who stands out the strongest. Write a description or brief memoir of that person.
3.) List five things you would do different if you started blogging today.
4.) The world is going to come to an end unless you get a tattoo that covers your entire back. Describe the tattoo you’ll get.
5.) Describe a moment when you put your foot in your mouth.

My favorite prompt of this week is #4. Considering I have zero tattoos (nor will I probably ever), you may think that's an interesting choice. Do let me explain.

At church on Sunday, there was a video before the sermon. I wanted to share it with you but....I can't find it online (I'm not very good at searching for things). However, it basically shared the gospel. It used some wonderful pictures to illustrate the four periods of time in Christian history/present day.

If I had to get a tattoo in order to save the world (and one that covered my back, to boot), let me share what it would be. Please allow me to preface that it wouldn't be one tattoo but several. Also keep in mind these aren't the exact drawings or pictures I would use but it's what I could find via google.

#1: The apple tree (aka The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil) to signify the start of the world with Adam & Eve. God made the heavens & the earth - and man & woman. He gave them one command - to not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Gensis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."

#2: The dead apple tree to signify the fall of man. The serpent (aka the devil) tricked Eve into eating the fruit from the forbidden tree. In turn, Adam ate the fruit, too. So they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden.

Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

#3: The cross signifying Jesus' death upon the cross. God sent His only Son to earth (God in human form) to teach us about how to live (faith, hope, and love but the greatest of these is love). He also died for every single sin of every single person (past, present, and future) although He could have saved Himself. He chose to defeat the very same death that holds every person prisoner since the fall of man.

Romans 5:15 "For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many."

#4: YOU ARE HERE sign signifying the present. We wait for the Lord's return, the end of the world, Armageddon - however you choose to look at it. We are called to live lives glorifying to God so that others may notice the difference, the separation between Christians and those of the world and be attracted to that difference, that sense of wholeness that is only provided when the Lord is in charge of your life. Then they, too, can receive the grace of salvation and lead a life glorifying to God.

Revelation 22: 12-13 "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."

#5: Jesus as a white knight on a horse. Jesus will return (sooner than you think although we are unsure of the exact date if the end times, it could be today, tomorrow, 10 years, 100 years...etc) to finish where he left off with death. He will lead us into a physical battle that (for now) is spiritual and unseen (but real and true nonetheless). I'm not an expert on the ends times but I do know this is when the Lord will judge the living and the dead.

Revelation 19:11 "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True."

Kind of a long explanation (sorry), but those would be my tattoos if I ever decided to get some massive tattoos on my back (or anywhere else on my body).

To see what others want their tattoos to be (or to read some posts about the other prompts) go to Mama Kat's - if a prompt tickles your fancy, go ahead and link it up to join in the fun!

That sounds like one heck of a tattoo. I shied away from this assignment but am happy to see someone else took it on.

Stopping by from Mama Kat's.
