marathon

Since around Christmas, I've been talking about my workouts and getting in shape, losing weight, etc. It's time I spilled the beans and told you all what I'm really up to. The whole reason why I exercise (or try to) up to an hour or more per day (minus my lovely Sundays when I rest).

I am going to run a marathon.

26.2 miles.

I am only telling you all for motivation. You are my encouragers, my supporters, my friends. I will admit that I am scared to death of each one of those miles, but I know that I can do it (with much help from the Lord). I am not a runner, by any definition of the word, but I am determined to have this little slice of something all for myself.

It's the Omaha marathon on September 26, 2010. So be cheering for me as I train and continue to stretch myself to my limits (and beyond). I will keep you up to date.

They have a half marathon in Lincoln in May.. my sister did it last year because she has been training for trying to do a marathon. Perhaps you could try that one to test yourself and see how far you need to go! Mallory did fine and I bet you can too.. (I cant, as I was happy on Tuesday to go 5 minutes of continuous jogging on a treadmill.. I was always the sprinter in track!)
I am so, so proud of you, lady! This is amazing. I just know that you are going to be successful.

Go luck! Can't wait to read all about this in the coming months. :)
ps. You should come and run the Chi marathon in October!! :)
Yay! You announced it! I am truly proud of you, you already know you are an inspiration. I know you can do it and cannot wait to read your post when you accomplish the marathon!

you can do it!!! yay!!! Big-D is a marathon runner. except he runs in the mountains! a trail runner! so, on top of the mileage, there is elevation, rock climbing, etc. the whole thing amazes me. but he **is** a runner. his body is built for it. I am NOT a runner. 5 miles kicked my butt the other night :)

But - YOU are amazing. and you have drive and dedication. so i know you can do it!

Way to GO! You can totally do it!

I think that we are all capable of more than we think. Take me for instance. Did I ever think I could ride my bike 100 miles? No! And now I have done it three times!

Next weekend I am starting the summer cycling season by riding my bike 75 miles... because I want to and I can!
