Baby's First Phone Call review and giveaway

Here it is. My first giveaway. Yeah, I'm just a tad excited! I am also really excited about the prize.

Baby's First Phone Call is an automated call tree that you set up ahead of time, allowing you to notify friends and family with a single call without losing that valuable bonding time with your family (not to mention precious REST).

How it works:
You set up an account before baby's arrival! This is important because you probably won't have the time to set it up once baby makes his or her appearance.

You enter in the names and phone numbers of those special people who you want to receive notification of the baby's arrival.

After baby is born, you simply make ONE phone call and leave a personal voicemail message (of any length) with the details you want everyone to know: name, arrival time, height, weight, hospital room numbers, visiting hours, and if that little one has your dimples or your great-grandma's red, curly hair!

Then the Baby's First Phone Call system takes care of the rest. A call is placed to each number in your account. If that person answers, they hear your message first hand. If they can't answer the call, the message is sent on to their voice mail or answering machine. In both cases, the receivers can choose to leave you a response that you pick up at your convenience.

** Do note that the 800-number is only available in the US and will only make calls to US area codes. Sorry to my friends outside the US, but hopefully this service will soon be available to you if this is something you're interested in later on. **

I first heard about Baby's First Phone Call through another blogger when I actually won a gift certificate myself (which I plan to use as a baby shower gift for a friend having her first baby!). 'Wish I'd had that when my kids were born' was my first thought. How convenient to let all of those distant relatives, church friends, co-workers, and long-lost friends from camp/high school/college know that your little one has made his or her appearance. After my boys were born, I spent some time on the phone but often that job was delegated to my mom and husband. They took time away from our new little guy to call anyone and everyone who I thought should know about our baby.

This is something to help you save time so that you can spend more time with that new little baby and your family.

BUY IT:
There are a variety of packages ranging in price from $20-$50. If you buy a smaller package and realize you need to add more numbers, you can add up to 5 more for as little as $2.50.

Gift certificates are available in amounts of $20, $25 and $30 for accounts that notify 10, 20 or 30 people. Each gift certificate comes with a personalized PDF certificate that you can print out to give as a gift. Each gift comes with a unique code for the recipient to use to set up their account. Plus, they can always upgrade their account if they decide to notify more friends and family.

Disclaimer: No monetary payments were received for this post. I was offered a gift certificate to use for this review, but declined that offer (due to me not having the necessary bun in oven to really use the phone call). How fun! That would have been GREAT when we had our son! I'm not preggers now but my sis-in-law will be having her 6th bundle of joy in April and I'm sure would rather enjoy the peace and quiet in the hospital bonding with her new baby rather than being on the phone!

I don't want to enter the giveaway, mainly because I'm past this stage and I don't know anyone who's currently pregnant. But I just had to comment on what a brilliant idea this is!!! I wish it had been around when I had had my babies!!
