how do you mend a broken heart

It hasn't been that long since I was in high school. It wasn't so long ago I had boyfriends who broke my heart.

But now it's not my heart being broken. It's my sister's. My poor baby sister had her boyfriend of a year and a half break up with her. He says because he's being deployed overseas that she shouldn't worry about him for the next 3 years and should have fun in college.

I told her that wasn't fair of him to make that decision because if she wants to worry about him while he's overseas, that's her choice. And she can still have fun in college.

I just don't know what to say to her. I feel so bad and wish I could be there (not that me being there physically would help). I want to slap him for making her heart break. I want to yell at him.

Should I? No, I know that would make her more angry. I just wish I could take it from her.

awww noooo....i'm sorry....that poor girl...i hope everything works out for her...at least she has you to talk to...
Sounds familiar. The same thing happened to my parents. Needless to say, it was meant to be because they ended up back together when my dad got home and have been married 41 years. If things are meant to be, they will be. Destiny has a way to bring two people together again. My husband and I broke up for 5 years and he is my soul mate! We were just too young the first time around.

sounds more like he either does not want to be with her or he really loves her! She's young, this will pass!!
