the Nobel Peace Prize...really?

Big A called me as I was on my way home from MOPS and told me President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize.

WHAT?!?! Why?

I don't understand. We're still at war. His big time health care bill hasn't passed.

I'm just confused. There has to be someone who has accomplished something who deserves it more than our rock star president. I'm just a little annoyed with this news that there was no one more deserving of this amazing honor??? No way. I'm not that up on who else would be deserving but there are people who are advocates and activists for various organizations, diseases, etc. who have done something.

Did he win it for "most appearances on tv by a US President in a week?" Seriously, I'm so tired of seeing him on tv - everyone knows about the healthcare bill. Him being on tv 24/7 is not going to help it get passed; it's just starting to annoy everyone (even those who voted for him).

I'm also appalled at the appearance by the president on the advertisement for George Lopez's new late-night talk show. Seriously? Our president is not supposed to be an icon, a sex symbol. He's supposed to be a professional. Not telling George Lopez that he needs to change late night tv and that's a change he (Obama) can believe in. Put on a tie.

And Nobel Peace Prize givers - what were you thinking????

Totally Agree.. I was reading about that last night whilst doing a midnight feed.. I was slightly confused to why he had got this when there are still so many issues that need sorting out!!
Will hopefully have skype again when I can persuade the Mr that I deserve a snazzy new laptop!! :) x

Like my friend Erin shared in her "bragging" post, I don't necessarily want to "brag" about my boys but I am overjoyed at some of their accomplishments recently! So I will share with you! Moose is doing wonderfully at school. We moved him to the afternoon classroom and his teacher said that his behavior problems that they saw in the morning have virtually disappeared. Great! Twice last week (once at school and once at Sunday School) his teachers told me that he shared with someone. What a sigh of relief that one is; sharing is so hard but to know that what I'm implementing at home is working (even the itsy bitsiest bit!) is a relief.  I've noticed that baby toys are most enjoyed by the older crowd. Greater (movie review)

Sports movies are some of my favorite ones; even better if they are underdog stories! "Greater" is just that - a true underdog story about Brandon Bulsworth who could be called the greatest walk-on in the history of college football. The movie follows Bulsworth from the time he's a kid. His mother is raising he and his brother (who is quite a bit older; old enough to be mistaken for his dad, laughably). His brother gives him a kick in the pants when Brandon claims he wants to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Brandon was a heavy kid so no one really thought it would happen. However, Brandon worked as hard as he could and made it. Walked on the team and caught the attention of his coach who put some amazing work into this kid to help him become better. I love when coaches look at the heart of a player more than ability. This really is an amazing story, an amazing movie - full of inspiration and encouragement. We Choose Virtues (review & giveaway!)

I almost think I needed this Kids Kit from We Choose Virtues almost as much as my sons. I mean, check out this list: patience, kindness, obedience, diligence, forgiving, attentive, etc. I have such problems with patience and attentive (anyone else get distracted by stuff online?)! So I know that it's important to teach these virtues to my children, too (and learn alongside them).
