Holiday Slim Down Update 4

That scale just won't budge. I'll admit I haven't followed my diet/exercise plan to a T, but darn I've been trying. Sometimes it's just so hard to want to get up and go for a walk with the kids. I'm just tired.

But the good news is that I tried on my old jeans and they fit. Tightly, but I got them buttoned! Which is weird because I tried them on just a week or so ago and they weren't close to buttoning. Think my fat is dispersing itself elsewhere? lol

I don't know if I'm going to make this 20 pound mark by the holidays. It may take me longer. I'm going to keep trying, though.

When we had a free try with a personal trainer, she said that when you get more exercise that you will build muscle and that muscle is heavier than fat. So she said for my example, that something that fit at 120 lbs (when I never exercised and all) would possibly fit at 135 lbs if I had more muscle than body fat. So you could be replacing your body fat with muscle and that could result in your weight stubborness.

You'll get there...celebrate in each victory, big or small. And getting those pre-pregnancy jeans on is certainly a victory! A big one!

Keep on doing what you're doing and it'll happen.

Although, really slimming down for the holiday eating is nuts!

I have a good friend who is a dietician. She gets really upset when people focus on weight. It's just a number! She gets people to set different goals, like I want to be able to walk 2 miles without getting out of breath, or making sure you get 4 servings of veggies per day. She wants people to base their goals off of making healthy choices, and not on a certain weight. I had a really good talk with her the other day, and plan to go to a class that she's teaching next week. She's got so much good stuff to share!

It sounds like you probably lost inches and that's why your jeans are fitting more comfortably, which is really awesome!! Try to break it up into little mini-goals. 20 lbs seems like such a huge goal...maybe take it in 5 lb increments and it may not seem so daunting!

You're doing great!!
