ready...or not!

My ultrasound went great today (thanks again to LJ for keeping Moose in line for me - that would NOT have been fun without you)! Baby is looking healthy (and has my chin) and weighs a whopping 7lbs 11oz (give or take a pound - wow). SOOOO I go in Thursday evening to the doctor (4:30pm) to have her check my cervix. From there we'll go to supper, then to the hospital to start the cervix thinning medicine. If we haven't progressed much by Friday morning, we'll start the Pitocin.

Please be praying for me. I'm super nervous about leaving Moose, even if I trust my mom with him. I just have never been apart from him for more than a few hours since his birth, so this is hard. I know I'm going to miss him so much, and I just want him to be ok without me there. And I don't want his schedule too messed up so it's not a lot of tantrums when we all come home.

Be praying for the baby, too, that we both come home healthy and happy. Although I've given birth before, I'm nervous. I always worry about the worst possible scenarios. So pray for serenity and patience for me.

I don't know if I'll get more posted before then as I'll be running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get stuff done before then.

So exciting! Moose will be fine and have a great time with his grandma while you're in the hospital. You may want to think about giving him a small gift "from the baby" and bring it to the hospital with you to give him upon meeting his new sister/brother.
Praying for you guys and that everything goes smoothly.

i have high anxiety, so I understand about fears... I used to always imagine the worst! I loved being scheduled for deliveries... one of my fears is that i'd be someplave like in the grocery store and my water would break or something.

but... turns out, even if that ever happened, my body had a hormone deficiency and never dilated on it's own to past like a 6. so, they'd always schedule me and pump me full of a certain hormone. sometimes after the hormone, my body would kick into gear and other times, i had the pitocin. either way, i still loved getting ready and knowing when i was going in. that's just how my doctor was. she had soooo many patients (ob/gyn) that she would always "schedule" labor & delivery unless the mother didnt want to.

good luck and god bless! i'm praying for you!
