Wonder Pets, Wonder Pets...
...we're on our way, to help a little Moose celebrate his birthday!
That's right! I am again planning a birthday party for my little Moose. I'll probably write a sappy post about how I can't believe he's turning two (yes, I will, you know it), but for now, I'll focus on my big bash plans.
I debated between an Elmo, Wonder Pets, or a Super Why! birthday party and Wonder Pets won. Probably because they're my favorite (and so many others do Elmo). Then I started to research cupcakes or cakes. I want to make his cakes again, otherwise I'd go to Walmart and get a pre-made one. But I really like doing it myself.
Someone somewhere on some forum turned me toward the Nick Jr. website. Ah-ha! I found Linny, Tuck, and Ming-Ming (too) cupcakes! They look slightly complicated, but....it means a lot to me to celebrate his birthday before the new baby comes and to make it special. So I'm going to try - they may not come out perfect but that's just fine!
I was also going to try to make the Flyboat cake. I was really dreading this. Then I got the bright idea to use the Wonder Pets symbol to decorate a small circular cake like I did last year for Moose. I'm so excited because that will be SO much easier than the Flyboat!! And if I think we'll need more cake than just the cupcakes (because I am not doing 24 of each of those designs), I think I'll make a circle layer cake and do a big WP symbol cake.
That's all I've got so far. I don't know if I'll try games; he may be too young? I also thought about making the children guests (I need to make a guest list) or just Moose a WP cape! Any ideas for a stellar party to break this big boy in before he becomes the big brother are more than welcome!
I dedicate this post and this Tuesday's Tribute (hosted by the beautiful Angie who got a wonderful night's rest) to Nick Jr. who really has some great ideas for youngster parties. And to the Wonder Pets for teaching my son about teamwork (and songs that get impossibly old haha). Go check out other Tuesday's Tributes! Go.Go.
