oh great, the dentist
Let me give you fair warning...I hate BAD teeth. I don't mean like a few cavities. I mean, I probably have a whole mouth full of them. And I have had BAD experiences with dentists. I have mostly had MEAN dentists who make you feel like crap because you have bad teeth. Now, I know I have bad teeth. My parents have bad teeth, they didn't have much money growing up, and they didn't enforce us to brush our teeth. That equates to BAD teeth. I have also had some PAINFUL dentistry experiences (more on those another time).
So tonight, I chipped a tooth. Great. I scoured the internet in search of a dentist in this area. I scoured the internet to see how safe sedative dentistry was while pregnant (it's not). So I cried. That means I'll have to feel the pain if they pull it, which they most likely will. The last time I did that I cried more walking out than walking in. Now, this doesn't hurt right now but I am completely and utterly terrified about going to the dentist tomorrow.
Pray for me.
Edit: I went to the dentist today. I woke up at 3:30 because I was so worried & haven't slept since. Yay! Anyway, I cried even before we got to see the dentist. But he was a really nice guy, no lectures about how awful I am because my teeth suck. He didn't even poke at my teeth, just looked. He said he could do a root canal on it & crown it (but crowns...woo $1,100). However, he basically said that he would wait until after the baby's born (unless it gets infected and hurts like you-know-what) and to a comprehensive fix on everything. He said that if we didn't have insurance and wanted to save all of my teeth, it would be approximately $25,000. If I get a top denture & save all my bottom teeth (and have insurance), it'll be about $10,000. Yeah, that made me feel better. Poor Big A. I know he knew about my teeth when we met, but I'm almost positive he didn't really sign up quite for this. But he says he's not worried about it and it'll be ok (he's such a great guy). So for now, I'm to eat mostly softer stuff (good-bye my lovely crackers and chips...sad). The only thing I fear more than the dentist is the dentist bill. But hopefully we'll be able to save a bunch of money until the baby's born & then I'll help us accumulate more debt!

I ended up not deleting...Hope we can be in touch again my long distance blogger friend. Just wanted to say losing a tooth isn't as bad as losing your baby or endangering it. It will all be okay. Have some faith girl!

I'm keeping you in my prayers! It will all be OK!
