finger knitting

Christmas gifts this year are going to be crafty gifts. Cheap crafty gifts. I'll show pictures when my computer stops being stupid. Anyway, my older sister always claims to not want anything so she's almost the hardest person to shop for. I thought and thought about what to make her or get her until I came up with the thought that when she gets to Nebraska (from Hawaii) in early December, her tiny 100+ pound butt will be freezing off. So I've decided to knit her a scarf.
Do I know how to knit? Nope. Do I have knitting needles? Nope. Hmmm...what to do, what to do.
Finger knit her a scarf!!!
I bought a skein of yarn and watched a You Tube video explaining how to finger knit. Very easy but sort of time consuming (well, no more than real knitting or crocheting). The hardest part is I didn't know how long it would take and Moose LOVES yarn so I had to do this during nap time. I tried at bedtime last night, but I messed up so I had to start over & was too tired to start over. So as soon as the kid was out for a nap, I picked up my yarn to start.
It's super long because it's not thick or anything, so I had to make it long so it would keep her semi-warm. Now, I'm debating on waiting for her visit or sending it to her boyfriend in New York so she'll have it there or sending it to her in Hawaii so she can take it with her. Hmmm...

LOL.

I want to see pictures.

It is so sweet from you to go through all the trouble to make a scraf for your sister by yourself instead of just going shopping for it.

But if possible our gifts will be home or handmade, too.

I have never heard of it, but I am definitely going to look it up! I HIGHLY recommend buying just one knifty knitter loom... with a 40% off coupon from your local craft store (EXTREMELY CHEAP and worth the literally few dollars you would pay for it) It will knit up a beautiful SUPER EASY (my five year old can do it) scarf AND hat to match in no time..,

I've heard of finger knitting but I've never seen it done (except for the hair ties that we use to make when we were kids).
Have fun with it!!!

Thank you for your comment. I'm just so depressed. Is it my fault for losing the baby? It wasn't completely formed or anything. The doctor said that I was probably less than two weeks into it, but still. I just feel like it's all my fault. My heart is just so broken and I feel so much pain. This is all my fault. I know it wasn't an actual baby yet, but it was still it was mine.

I was just so excited. I knew before my soon to be brother-in-law arrived and was glowing all weekend. I was so excited to know that my wedding dress would probably have to be taken out because of a baby bump, and now I have nothing. Ryan is being so good to me, but I still feel lost. I'm grateful that I was finally able to get pregnant, but heartbroken that I wasn't able to carry it to term. I know God has a plan and everything, but sometimes it's so hard to understand. I'm coping okay, but it's sinking in more today. Yeah, thank God my mom is coming tomorrow. I don't know...I'm just speechless I guess.

I appreciate your comment!

Love always,
~Tiff
