trip to the big city

Ok so all of you living in huge cities, close your eyes. Because I was so proud of myself for driving IN Omaha (Nebraska for all of you non-Midwesterners who've never had a layover there during a flight) all by myself. I didn't get lost ONCE! Sweet! And it was even more wonderful because it was over lunchtime and Moose slept through the whole city (and we went from one end to the other)! It could have been horrible with him being impatient and his acts of starvation.
Why was I in the Big O (not completely alone, mind you, but with the kid), you may ask? To take Moose to the allergist. Finally, the doctor took notice of his 5+ week cough and green mucus (sorry, I know it's gross but vital for details here) and sent me to this guy.
First they took his temperature, weight, and height. The nurse left, the doctor came in. Listened to his lungs, and sent us down the hall to take X-Rays of his face (sinuses). Moose was good except he wanted to play in the water fountain (ever try holding a 30some pound wiggling kid over a fountain for more than 2 minutes? It's hard). Anyway, we put on our little aprons so we don't become Spiderman, and he was really good. The pictures came back, and it was neat because I could see his little teeth that haven't come in yet.
The doctor examined the X-Rays & said he has a really bad sinus infection (which reminds me I need to pick up our RX). BUT just so we didn't waste the trip, they decided to do the little test on him.
The nurse came in and wrote numbers on his back. Then she took little poky things and poked his back (not one cry or tear from him) and put stuff on it to see if we get a reaction. Here's his back.
Moose also found the joys of chairs that spin. Notice he's spinning his shoes (and at times the sippy cup).
But he was so good the whole trip! I was proud of him because I heard kids screaming in adjoining rooms! And the best part? No allergies (the spot you see that looks allergic is their control)! Just a bad sinus infection. We got our RX and hopefully 10 days from now, all will be well.

that poor baby, I am glad that all is all right, but I hate that he even had to go thru with it in the first place.....

I did this with Maile and she screamed bloody murder the entire time! Moose is a man child to be able to put up with that without a single tear. Atta boy!!

Glad you made it through an Omaha trip, solo! Glad to see he doesn't have allergies either!

Bless his heart...

But I am glad it's just a sinus infection. He needs lots of hugs...give him one for me, please.
