why can't he just listen?

**Disclaimer: I love my husband with all of my heart. He is a GOOD husband and you can ask any one of my friends; they'll vouch for him. However, sometimes, he just won't listen.**

When Moose first got a cold last year, my mom told me to do what she'd done to me and my sisters growing up (and something I still do when I get sick): put Vicks on our feet. Big A said he couldn't understand how that would help clear up congestion and/or a runny nose. So he refused to take part.

Moose is sick again this year thanks to any number of factors. As I was dressing Moose for bed, I began to put Baby Vicks on his feet with socks. Big A insisted he just couldn't understand how that worked. I said there are numerous things that probably don't make sense but do work. But I put the socks and Vicks on. It won't work overnight and...who knows? Maybe it doesn't work at all. But at least he'll have SUPER SOFT feet in the morning.

All I know is that it won't hurt him so why not try.

Do you have any home remedies that your mothers (grandmothers, sister, aunts, doctors, brothers...etc.) told you that you use on your children (or know of that others use)?

What timing!
My mom and I were just talking about this yesterday.
Weird!
She found a product that was made by a mom (the best kinds of products, right?!!) and this product is supposed to help my daughter who catches and cold and hangs on to it for dear life it seems!
This product goes on her feet at night.
I'll let you know if it works!

HI. I'm first supposed to tell you how pretty, smart, generous, and funny you are.

Also, vicks on the feet works. I'm not sure why. Old wives from the wives tales aren't stupid. A humidifier and lemon and honey tea help too. It may be the vapors.

randi...

when we moved and i was sick, the Vicks actually really helped me....my mom called EVERY day and was like, "did you do the vicks thing like I told you to?" and I was like, "no mom" and she was like, "JUST TRY IT!" so i eventually did and the next day i coughed like maybe ten times all day, whereas before it was more like ten times every five minutes!!!

My mom also swears by vick on the feet for cough. There has to be something to that, I've heard it from so many people. And definitely a humidifier helps, too. I hope he is feeling better soon!

Wow.
I've heard of using vicks, but not on your feet.

Will Vicks on your feet really give you super soft feet? I am going to try it and see.

We've put vicks on Z's feet before and it really does work! It's the strangest thing, but it does! Sometimes I think old home remedies work way better than any of those crazy medicine's they give you these days.

Hope Moose feels better soon! :)

Vicks on the feet baby. I am a believer. A humidifier was also a big help with my boy.

I put vicks on my little ones feet when they get a cold also & it seems to work for me so I will continue to use it.
Good luck I hope Moose feels better soon.
