Wordful Wednesday

Why I love to go upstairs...

Whenever I go upstairs in our apartment (whether to put away laundry or potty), I hear a little cry (sometimes followed by a much larger cry).
I know at that point Moose has realized that I am not in his immediate sight. He usually can figure out I'm upstairs.
At which point, he comes over to the stairs. He climbs the bottom stair and sits on his knees. Sometimes he waits patiently for my reappearance. Other times, Moose does NOT wait patiently, but rather will cry the entire time I'm upstairs.
I don't mind much. I know he misses me, even if I'm only gone for a split-second.
And as I come down the stairs, I see these little peepers peeking up at me through the baby gate.

As I get closer, I see almost-white hair poking over the top.

Finally, as I'm almost to the bottom, I see this giant baby smile, all for me!

And as I gently climb over the gate (trying not to step on said baby), I squat down and pick up my handsome boy-in-waiting to give him a big "Mommy-missed-you-while-upstairs" hug.

Play along at Seven Clown Circus! It's Angie's Wordful Wednesday!

you are truly blessed with a beautiful baby..... Take all this time that they will cry for you to be nesar, because, sadly they will get older and more independent, but don't worry, my son who is almost 10, still wants to sit on my lap, even though he is nearly as tall as me and has the same size feet.... time goes by too quick...

so cute. my middle one would sit outside the bathroom door and cry any time i was using the bathroom - even just to shower. finally we brought a little chair and some books in their so he could be "with mommy". whew - am i glad he grew out of that phase. imagine if he was still doing that - his 5th grade homework on the little chair while mommy took a tubby! hahaha!

My angel girl misses me until I am out of her sight...then she remembers me when I reappear!

Thanks for the WW visit. Have a great day!

Awe, how sweet is that. If I disappeared tomorrow I'm not even sure if my 6 year old would miss me...;)

I am going to have to get out the baby gate all too soon!

that is the best part about being gone, the hugs and complete joy you get when you return.

Oh, how could you not love that. Mine just thinks, "Oh good, she's gone, let's raid the pantry before she gets back." Not nearly as cute of a sight & does NOT end in a hug.
